Ms. Pressley established a partnership with New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP). She partnered with founder and president of The Source of Synergy Foundation, Diane Williams, and the United Nations to design and construct new greenhouse/outdoor classroom. Ms. Pressley also served on the instructional committee, devising school reopening plans in tandem with New York State guidelines. Ms. Pressley facilitated and coordinated the 7th grade pen pal program and 3rd -grade reading program with NYIT medical students. She participated in Academic Intervention Support (AIS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) mandated programs intended to help students meet state standards. Ms. Pressley performed teacher evaluations, organized weekly school-wide department meetings, conducted fire and safety drills, and integrated interdepartmental collaborative work/instructional opportunities. She worked closely with technology department on special STEM projects. She worked as the Milton Olive Middle School Lead Teacher for the Destination Graduation Summer Academy. Ms. Pressley brought the Science Department to a new level. She has been resourceful and industrious, and brings a wealth of positive experiences to the Milton L. Olive Middle School and the District at large.

In my role as Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, I had the opportunity to evaluate and provide feedback on Ms. Pressley’s impact as a science teacher on the student achievement of our Milton Olive Middle School students on New York State Regents exams. In addition, I have been able to observe Ms. Pressley consistently demonstrate high levels of performance in all assigned duties and responsibilities.

In her administrative educator role, she supported the monitoring of teaching and learning during our Destination Graduation Summer Academy, she engaged teachers in rich dialogue about improvements in instructional practices that increased student achievement in literacy and math. We work together doing Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) projects based on the United Nations Sustainability Goals for 2030 (UNSDGs). She is incredibly enthusiastic about getting students recruited for programs and events that I hold within the District of Wyandanch. She is a wealth of information about what does and does not work within the parameters of district rules and regulations. - She is also quite organized and keeps meticulous records for all aspects of each project. Desiree has great ideas for community service projects for the students to develop.

Teachers for Success has displayed nothing but professionalism and knowledge for training teachers appropriately. The owner of this astound program Desiree Pressley has shown her true dedication and passion to ensure all teachers have a chance to gain a piece of her wisdom for the knack of teaching students.
